The Official Opening of the iD Dunedin Fashion Week

 

FASHION: Back to the Future

This event will have guests embarking on time travel back to the way we looked and sounded in the 1950s, ‘60s, ‘70s and 80s, then warping forward to fashion in the future. It will be an evening of fashion, fun and unexpected ‘intermissions’.

Quality clothing from yesteryear will stir memories, and the complementing jewellery and accessories will prove that top designs, materials and craftsmanship endure the decades.

FASHION: Back to the Future is a Presbyterian Support Otago event with all proceeds going back to the community through its Family Works services for families and children throughout Otago. Some of the clothing featured in the parade will be available for purchase from either Shop on Carroll (10 Carroll St) or The Op Shop (59 St Andrew St).

Feast your eyes on our vintage collections and latest fashion purchases at Dunedin City Library, including Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and Burda with our annual Fashion Tour. Come behind the scenes and discover the fabulous range of fashion books and magazines that we don't keep on public display.

 

Gallery De Novo Presents: Fashioned Art Opening

'Gallery De Novo Presents: Fashioned Art' will showcase artwork from fashion designers who have been or are involved with the iD Dunedin Fashion Week. Each designer is producing a piece of art that shows the inspiration behind their collection.

All pieces will be available for sale, with all proceeds going to ARTSENTA Dunedin.

 

Starlight Shopping

“Starlight Shopping” is a unique opportunity for Dunedin fashion retailers to showcase their latest Winter 2010 collections.  A number of fashion stores will be open late for the iD Dunedin Fashion Week.  Don’t miss out on instore promotions, specials and mini fashion parades.

The iD Dunedin Emerging Designer Awards Show

The Emerging Designer Awards allow national and international finalists to present their original ideas and collections to the fashion world, winning prizes for outstanding creativity as the next generation of talented fashion designers. The Awards showcase collections on the catwalk from 30 finalists followed by the prize giving.

Public Lecture - "Zandra Rhodes: A Lifelong Love Affair with Textiles"

Don’t miss the opportunity to hear international fashion icon, Zandra Rhodes, speak about her life and experiences in the fashion industry.

 

Kathryn Wilson instore at Waughs

Waughs Clothing Store is bringing New Zealands top show designer, Kathryn Wilson, to Dunedin for the iD Dunedin Fashion Week. Kathryn will be doing an instore promotion of her shoes and boots on Friday 12 March.

 

The iD Dunedin Fashion Show

The iD Dunedin Fashion Show will bring together an outstanding line up of designers in an exciting event on the platform of the city’s captivating Railway Station.  Twenty-one labels will show on the catwalk in 2010.

Andrew Logan - Public Talk

Andrew Logan, British sculptor/jeweller and personality will talk about his approach to art, fashion and life. Introduced by Zandra Rhodes. In association with ID Dunedin Fashion Week. Not to be missed.
