Her collection – You Wear Your Heart on Your Sleeve

“Sketching on paper with mixed media, trying not to control the pencil, is how I start creating a mood or character. The lightness and unforced lines from my sketches is something I try to keep throughout the process, often leading to a flow in pattern cutting and organic shapes in the garments. Working with colour and experimenting with textile surface are some of my strongest skills.”

“Printing, dying and using other techniques to create my own textile material is an important part in keeping my work authentic and personal. This project started with a fascination for the human body, a fascination with the balance between beauty and disgust. Three anatomical sketches became the foundation for this collection. The collection is an experiment with shapes, structures and colours found in the human anatomy. An experiment with dyes and prints to create organic surfaces, using randomness as an important element in the process.”

You Wear Your Heart on Your Sleeve is collaboration with Textile Design student Matilda Eksröm.
